NO CURE FOR BULLYING:

Recently there have been two unfortunate suicides by two young boys in the last two weeks. Bullied in school because people thought that they were gay. This has been a topic on all of the popular news channels, and the subject is, How Do We Stop Bullying? I can tell you now that you can put all the anti-bullying programs in the world in every school, and it will not stop. Nobody wants to be known as a tattle tale especially if you already think that they are gay. Nobody wants to be even more alienated from their peers, or seem soft to the girls/boys that they like. Nobody wants to seem like they are weak and can't handle the trying times of childhood. Because children will always find a way to get their point across, even if it is a negative one. I hate to say this but people sometimes have to die in order for change to happen. These two boys killing themselves because of constant harassment I believe will spark a change. A change in those children who took part in the bullying. It will scare them to understand the power of words and actions, thus sparking a trend HOPEFULLY to know that even as children you are capable of so much. In this new world that we live in with gay parents, gay talk show host, gay entertainers, etc, this will change peoples perceptions of what NORMAL is, and that being gay or acting gay isn't such a BIG topic of taboo. American's are so high strung on this GAY thing either intrigued or disgusted. People going against gay marriage as if we can catch a disease or something. As a black person I know first hand about the segregation that used to be in the early days of America through education and elder family members. We learned that all of that was pointless and basically a waste of time...so why are we at it again? Who gives a fuck about a gay person getting married or being gay, your life doesn't affect me, so why should I care?
